Baby Has Been Adopted!

Wonderful news! We have a new adoption to announce!

Baby (now known as Ruby) has been adopted by Bob and Beth Roberts of Pike Road, Alabama!

She has a great new home where she will be loved dearly. Her parents recently lost their previous Bassets at 15 years of age and they are ready for a new companion. Baby will go on walks with her dad everyday and she will be spoiled rotten!

Congratulations on finding your new home, Miss Baby!

Baby (Dollie) is now called Ruby. We were unsure about her real name and she has such beautiful red ears it seemed natural. She's very attentive and comes every time we call.

Ruby left foster parents Helen and Earl's house in Mobile on Sunday with a friend who was driving back to Birmingham, so we did the handoff at the Prattville McDonalds.

For three nights she has slept quietly through the night in her crate. We don't have a fenced yard or a dog door and have had only one accident right after she arrived on Sunday.

She was a champ in the shower, has mastered the Pedipaws pedicure with a little help from Beggin Strips, and has learned to go up and down stairs.

After a long walk early in the morning, she runs the Basset 500 in the house, throws her bone around, and then settles down to what we consider a perfect Basset girl.

  2. Thanks you for giving her such a great home, Beth! Sounds like she is very happy! I like your choice of a name change. It fits well.

  4. Ruby continues to be a little doll. Yesterday I was away all day and it was her first day alone with "Dad". She hasn't been fearful, but has cowered around Bob which makes us think she has some man issues. He showed her a lot of attention and today she's wagging her tail when she sees him and running to the door when he comes in from the outside.

I continue to be amazed that she has learned so fast and adapted so well. And, she just seems so happy all the time. What a special dog!

Thank you Helen and Earl and Martha.

    Beth
